　　今天的世界是一个女人的世界，我们的主人公－－一个男人中的男人－－决心要让男人回归他们在社会中应有的地位。这简直是个不可能的任务！这部剧集由来自《我为喜剧狂》的制片人Jack Burditt打造，著名笑星Tim Allen主演。Tim Allen亦担任该剧的执行制片人。

男人创立了人类文明，发明了火车头，创造了ESPN……但他们很快就会发现，这世界已经不再属于男人。你再也找不到比Mike Baxter（Tim Allen扮演）更有男子气概的人了。他是一家知名户外体育用品商店的市场主管，他喜欢冒险，喜欢环球旅行。更重要的是，他开着一辆皮卡车。

Mike的事业如日中天，在一个被女人环绕的家庭中也是绝对的「老大」－－这其中包括他的妻子Vanessa（Nancy Travis扮演）、22岁的大女儿Kristin（Alexandra Krosney扮演）、17岁的二女儿Mandy（Molly Ephraim扮演）和14岁的小女儿Eve（Kaitlyn Dever扮演）。Vanessa多年来一直默默扮演着家庭主妇的角色，可她最近不知道发什么神经，硬要回去工作。对Mike来说更要命的是，Vanessa很快得到提拔，走上了领导岗位（这让那些资历比她老的男同事很是愤愤不平）。由于Vanessa的工作压力加大，从不过问家里情况的Mike不得不接手更多的家务活－－特别是照顾三个女儿的重任！

ABC的《最后一人》成功被续订第五季。
