　　强尼（布拉德·皮特 Brad Pitt 饰）做梦都想成为一名摇滚明星，为了实现这个梦想，强尼全力以赴，完全不在意周遭的世界已经发生了翻天覆地的变化，更没有好好的想过自己实现梦想的可能性有多少。某日，强尼邂逅了名为德雷特（Alison Moir 饰）的波西米亚女子，两人很快就走到了一起，度过了一段疯狂的日子。
　　
　　然而好景不长，随着兜里的钱越来越少，强尼的生活陷入了窘境，为了能够填饱肚子，强尼不得不强忍着悲痛卖掉了钟爱的吉他，可是一切并没有好转，就连德雷特也离开了他。之后，在好友德科（卡尔文·莱弗斯 Calvin Levels 饰）的帮助下，强尼赎回了吉他，两人还组建了一支乐队。
