　　寡妇黛莉拉（凯特卡普萧饰）在漫天风尘的堪萨斯州小镇上，经营了一个牧场，神秘的她一生坎坷，无药可救的沉溺在酒精、香烟与性爱上，她每天都会叫一个牧场的男工人来陪她过夜，这些工人们根本没有拒绝的余地。黛莉拉的身边跟着一个孤僻的儿子菲宝，他完全受控于母亲，虽然已长大成人，但是却是极端的单纯害羞。一日，年轻性感的流浪汉克雷（文斯法汉饰）来到了这个小镇，被介绍到黛莉拉的牧场工作，他也不例外的被女老板引诱过夜，但是，克雷爱的是美丽的凯蒂（艾许莉贾德饰），于是大胆拒绝了女老板的要求，不过，他却与菲宝成了好朋友。随著两人越来越浓厚的友谊，菲宝渐渐走出自闭的小空间，开始懂得反抗母亲，嫉妒的黛莉拉想尽方法要让两人彼此伤害，一场欲望与忿怒交织的战争在牧场上延烧开来……
