　　《燃烬八月》改编自希伯来裔导演埃尔达尔·拉帕波特自己导演的2005年短片《灰烬之后》，两位男主角都没有更换。拉帕波特用六年时间对故事大纲做出了扩容，令原来的二人对戏变成虐心的三角关系。炽烈汹涌的情欲，优美深广的长镜，开到荼蘼的希伯来配乐，令这部电影获得了2011年Iris电影节最佳剧情长片奖。
