　　8岁大聪明又古灵精怪的汤姆原本和大多数温暖家庭中的小朋友一样，舒适地倍受父母的呵护。但是当汤姆的母亲5年前在白朗峰冰河区离奇失踪后，他的童年岁月就完全改变了。汤姆幼小纯真的心灵里再怎么样都认为：失踪不代表死亡，亲爱的妈妈一定在山上某个地方等着汤姆去接他回家。勇敢的汤姆在心里面立下坚定而且唯一的目标就是要寻找失踪的妈妈。
　　
　　父亲带着他搬到山区与慈祥的祖父(贾各维拉饰)一起生活，并且在当地就学。生活在冰天雪地形势险恶的白朗峰冰河区并不舒适，但是这个在都市生长的小男孩一边学习如何与居住山林的同学相处，浑身上下依旧充满 ” 即使要将山脉移开也要找到母亲的决心 ”。个性倔强充满好奇心及想象力的汤姆，运用了他的想象力和勇敢在这个挑战大自然和历史轨迹的过程当中，意外地发现了许多不为人知的家族秘密；更激起和祖父之间的亲情冲突。
　　
　　正当汤姆曲折离奇地挖掘真相时，50年前撞上白朗峰冰河区山顶失事的印度航空喷射机马拉巴公主号（Malabar Princes）的残骸与故事，亦在差点儿永远深埋雪山之际，随着汤姆弃而不舍的追查过程如同冰河溶解般，缓缓地一一呈现在世人面前….. 究竟汤姆在解开马拉巴公主号（Malabar Princes）的秘密同时，能不能为自己找回生命中最重要的亲人呢？
