兩位主持買來甘草等香料煮出香濃「滷水汁」，炮製賀歲佳餚「鴻運炸子雞」，倍添鬆脆美味。鼎爺分享用生鐡鑊烹飪的優點，以及可令新購鐵鑊不「黐底」的心得。炸子雞的傳統做法要經浸泡、上色、風乾、淋油等工序，極花耐性。
